I am using tata photon last 10 month (No.9221168176). first 8 month service is very good. But tata photon change their policy for unlimited client. from last two month they started providing tata whiz service after high speed data limit is finished which is very slow. I am able to download 2.5 mb data in 6 hours at day time at night the speed increase little bit ( 50 to 70 kb/s) so i keep tata photon on over night to download 100 mb data in morning I found tata photon is disconnected ... more»

though it got a award of product of the year, its not able to stand its promise. The speed is pathetically slow. you can not even browse the normal sites so forget about sites offering buffered content. Its very disappointing that i opt for tata photon. Tata Photon Plus is not providing the internet speed anywhere near to what it is claiming. Most of the times, download speed is merely 5-10 KBPS. Internet browsing is also not that fast. I have purchased tata photon last year in january and within an year the device stop working, the people of tata are not ready to replace and saying me to purchase new. even about the speed they are not commited what they are saying..you will find at the end of billing cycle it takes 9-10 min even to open gmail. so because of bad customer care service and low speed not recommend to go for it.......................... more»

I had opted for the Rs. 5,000, six-month unlimited download/upload plan. The moment the plan was over, the speed of the Tata Photon+ dropped so drastically that it has now become impossible to open even simple, non-Flash pages. In short, it's a dead datacard, a piece of plastic junk. I would emphatically advise against going in for a Tata Photon+ connection: you'll NEVER get to even say hello to the Internet. i brought photon + looking at the advertisement, but it is so not worth. 1. they simple made complusory to buy a tata docomo sim card on chargeable basis 2. the speed is too tooo tooooo slow [while surfing on tata photon+ i fall asleep due to soooooo slow network] 3. i brought a new laptop, but photon spoiled my way of computing 4. photon is a big shit i suggest the tata company that they take money from us but its worth they should give services also equalant to it.... more»

1. It took 15 days to activate my Tata photon. This after roughly 20-25 calls of 1 hour each. Extremely unscrupolous dealer - Avinash ph no :9243030303. Avoid if you are called by the dealers in Hanumanth nagar of bangalore. 2. Speeds- forget 3.1 mbps I struggled to get 128 kbps download speeds. I bought this as a backup incase my primary broadband failed but could not use my VPN. So basically its useless for corporate use. I have been using tata photon for the last 3 months, it performs much better as expected for the amount @950 + taxes=1050/- per month which I have been paying regularly. I have been using day and night more than 10 GB per month lots of downloads, everyday. Best at this cost , Costly than Reliance, but much more reliable
Its poorest speed is 80 Kbps, at remote locations, Avg speed 1.2 Mbps. Data plans are not as attractive as reliance 3G, but paying 100/200 bucks to avoid frustration and time lost is acceptable. I took a Tata photon plus(Non 3G)week back Well in BTM layout,both 1st and 2nd stage i have got speed upto 0.5 to 0.6 mbps on average.But i was shocked to see the speed reaching upto even 0.9 mbps on sunday(Weekend). Never seen such a poor broad band for more money
Guys, I purchased Tata Photon+ last month and experiencing a very low speed internet, they will promise your internet will be fluctuating up-to 3.1 Mbps but it wont reach 300kbps and if you complain to customer care they wont consider your complaint bcoz their acceptable speed is 256 kbps to 3.1 mbps. Please never take this service. 5GB plan for Rs.1000 but earlier I had reliance broad band which is unlimited plan of 600kbps for Rs.720. I wish I could have stick to that. Tata staffs are more concerned about bills delivery than the service delivery
I bought photon plus in March 2011 and shut it off in May or earlier. Because they call you just all the time to find out if I have received the bill. I tell them if I do not get the bill and I do not pay then you hold my connection in abeyance. Repeatedly they called and I had just one reply to give or just disconnect the line. Hi, I purchased the photon plus in the month of sept., against my prev internet service, tikona, assuming the fact i would get a better service. But unfortunately, i'm not at all surprised by the fact, that there has been no change at all. Inspite of some many claims, photon plus is not at all satisfactory and i would rate as point 3 from 1 to 5, being 1 the lowest. Unsatisfactory band-width in respect of Tata Photon Plus
Tata-indicom has been trumpetting that Tata Photon+ has speed upto 3.1Mbps. I am however disappointed that speed obtained is only in the region of 300-800 Kbps.I expected at least 1.5 Mbps i.e.about 50% of what is promised. 1. It took 15 days to activate my Tata photon. This after roughly 20-25 calls of 1 hour each. Extremely unscrupolous dealer - Avinash ph no :9243030303. Automatically disconneted
The tata photon gets disconnected automatically while using internet more often; Though, the access manager shows it is connected, however, internet connection goes offline. Its irritating if it happens in a interval of 10 or 15 minutes. Hence, i have to disconnect it and reconnect many times.......... more»
