I am new customer of Tata photon post paid connection, bought this device @Rs.1500/. At the time Tata photon sellers promised to provide download speed upto 3.2Mbps and incase of any difficulty an engineer visit in less than 24 hrs at home. But the REAl story began after first month, when I paid the first month bill (Tata Photon unlimited post paid plan @850+10%taxes=Rs940/month). I stay at Shipra Sun City. The connectivity is pathetic. I have Tata Photon plus, which boasts of 3.1 Mbps speed, but one cannot even open gmail forget doing any other work. When I raised complaints they say that infrastrusture expansion is in progress. I want to ask that if they do not have infrastructure how can they sell their product. Now listen to this, they now charge Rs 150 for engineer visit from customer. And their response after that would be same infrastructure. So do not buy this pro... more»

My tata-photon No.is 9223538416.When I tried to activate it the activation failed Your Tech person told me that pESN No. in your system is 8020Fc64 while on tataphoton it is 80F1D6A0 I was suggested to go to your Dadar office.On reaching Dadar I came to know that your office has been from address given to me. 1. It took 15 days to activate my Tata photon. This after roughly 20-25 calls of 1 hour each. Extremely unscrupolous dealer - Avinash ph no :9243030303. Avoid if you are called by the dealers in Hanumanth nagar of bangalore. 2. Speeds- forget 3.1 mbps I struggled to get 128 kbps download speeds. I bought this as a backup incase my primary broadband failed but could not use my VPN. So basically its useless for corporate use. Massive drop in speed
I had opted for the Rs. 5,000, six-month unlimited download/upload plan. The moment the plan was over, the speed of the Tata Photon+ dropped so drastically that it has now become impossible to open even simple, non-Flash pages. But tata photon change their policy for unlimited client. from last two month they started providing tata whiz service after high speed data limit is finished which is very slow. Pathetic Service from Tata Photon Plus
I have been using this card since June 2011, I have experienced bad speed, but thought there is a network problem with the respective area and did not bother. When I was recharging on the internet, there was a network error and I raised a complaint. The next day all my unused data of 4.6 GB is lapsed for no fault of mine. Tata staffs are more concerned about bills delivery than the service delivery
I bought photon plus in March 2011 and shut it off in May or earlier. Because they call you just all the time to find out if I have received the bill. I tell them if I do not get the bill and I do not pay then you hold my connection in abeyance. Repeatedly they called and I had just one reply to give or just disconnect the line. Reliance data card..probably the worst data card in the world i guess..
I have been using reliance data card for a few months now and after the initial 15gb of 3.1mbps the speed gets reduced to 155kbps.So the thing is that during the 15gb phase the speed is reasonable and gud but after that the speed gets reduced to less than 10kbps and sometimes even the google homepage wont open..how pathetic..u cant even browse properly..nd yea it also gets disconnected frequently..its really the worst experience u can ever imagine nd whenever u complain to the customer care or v... more»

think 10 thousand times before buying a tata photon device....in my case average speed is 2-3 kbps and it hardly goes to 8-9 kbps after midnight. complained atleast 5 times and got the same response you cant get more than 30 kbps speed. when i bought this i was atleast expecting anything between 100-200 kbps but now i am feelingg completely cheated with tatas. soon planning to switch to reliance once the six month period is over........ more»

Hi, I purchased the photon plus in the month of sept., against my prev internet service, tikona, assuming the fact i would get a better service. But unfortunately, i'm not at all surprised by the fact, that there has been no change at all. Tata-indicom has been trumpetting that Tata Photon+ has speed upto 3.1Mbps. I am however disappointed that speed obtained is only in the region of 300-800 Kbps.I expected at least 1.5 Mbps i.e.about 50% of what is promised. I bought TATA Photon Card, made a 6 month advance payment and all my money locked up. Reason. Speed was too slow - 90 Kbps (with a small 'b' of course) and most of the time it never connect. After 30-40 continuous calls and 5-6 visits to service center the problem was resolved. All this after 15 days of frustration and what to say about lost time. I already made the advance payment. I would rate it as an below average product which offers too much but delivers very little. I was cheated at every step. I was provided the data card for Rs. 2100 whereas my friend bought the same in just Rs. 1200. A plan was provided for Rs. 850 monthly in the name of unlimited access. Nothing exciting. Tata Photon is too slow and we have to keep on connecting to different USB Ports to get connected. In remote locations it is so slow that we have to keep the work of browzing mails in abeyance. When nothing better is available, Tata Photon plus is fine but one needs a lot of patience. I would rate Tata Photon Plus Data Card as 'Average' as per my personal experience since the last four months. I say this because the service is never assured. I am never 100% sure whether I will get quick and uninterrupted connectivity to Tata Photon. Almost every time it gets disconnected intermittently several times and this is very frustrating particularly when you are trying to attend to some urgent matter. To begin with when I first used Photon I was quiet amazed on first day. Specially streaming was excellent. It still is good though. The main problem is consistency. The speed is highly inconsistence and when you'll call them they will do all kind of troubleshooting to no effect except for sovling the problem. The tata photon gets disconnected automatically while using internet more often; Though, the access manager shows it is connected, however, internet connection goes offline.
