Photon versus Netconnect - The smarter choice
|
It pretty much is a problem of plenty for data card subscribers. Butbefore you settle in on one of the two major players - TataPhoton Plus or Reliance Netconnect, it’s better to know what to expect from each of them. Tata Photon plans are cheaper than Netconnect but they have a catch - they are available in bigger data usage plans and hence are not economically feasible options for people with mere surfing needs. Reliance Netconnect plansare a hit in unlimited versions but there’s a little asterisk down there which should catch your eye. The 10 or 15 GB cap often gives the customers a miss while subscribing and you end up with speeds as low as 144Kbps once above the cap. It’s always better to check all those little ifs and buts before signing the dotted line while dealing with plans that often appear to good to be true.
Again, the TataPhoton plans provide decent speeds but come a cropper in unlimited section since they don’t give cheaper or night unlimited plans, and half a thousand pay for plans that aren’t this generous enough is indeed a spot of bother for their customers. While Reliance Netconnect plans do provide these, their speeds are suspect. Long lists of complaints have come up about the speeds falling to a tenth of promised download speed and lack of technical support or response on the part of service providers. As far as the network connectivity goes, both TataPhoton Plus and Reliance Netconnectboast of decent networks in city limits and on rail-routes. But Netconnect takes the cake once you are out of the city circles and enter tier-3 towns or villages. Then again, don’t expect those blazing speeds printed on the pamphlets and hoardings. Good luck with your search for the ‘perfect match’. |
