After an extreme competition over voice plans and tariffs, the leading India telecommunications companies seem to have now moved their interest towards data cards tariffs. Here is an evaluation of various data packs offered by prominent operators.

Pay as you go plans: Reliance is providing best tariff plans for unbundled or pay as you go packs. Currently, it charges just 20 paisa per MB, while Airtel is charging Rs 2 per MB under its pay-as-you-go plan. However, Idea Cellular is charging for an extreme Rs 3 per MB under it’s unbundle plan where you need not to register to any plan.

Standard Data Pack: All the three providers are providing 1 GB of 3G data for Rs 250 and 2 GB for Rs 450. Reliance has more attractive packs and broader choice in this section with three different packs costing Rs 750, Rs 900 and Rs 1,200 with 3G like speed available up to 5 GB, 10 GB and 15 GB respectively. Apart from this, MTS data cards are other better choice for unlimited plans. It is offering the cheapest plan yet starting at Rs. 650 for 5 GB data usage.

Bsnl launch with 100 mbps broadband speed

India’s largest cellular service provider and state’s telecommunication arm – BSNL, has come up with a trump card of its own. To rival the late surge of its competitors in private domain, especially reliance and Tata photon cards in the last few years, BSNL has come up with an ambitious project. It is set to offer its customers an unmatched broadband speed of 100 mbps, with its trial run to be flagged off in country’s IT hub – Pune.
